  • Astralpool Free Chlorine and pH Tester by Lovibond

    Tester for measuring free chlorine and pH levels. The tested water changes color and is compared with the color scale on the tester, where each shade corresponds to a numerical pH or free chlorine value. The reagent tablets are intended exclusively for chemical analysis and must not be used for any other purpose.

    The tester comes with a pack of 20 tablets for measuring pH and 20 tablets for measuring free chlorine.

    • Chlorine range: 0.1 - 3.0 g / m3
    • More than 20 mg/l of bromine may bleach the DPD color indicator.
    • pH range: 6.8 - 8.2
    • pH values below 6.8 always produce a yellow color
    • pH values above 8.2 always produce a red color
    • Water samples with low carbonate hardness
      (acid-binding capacity 4.3 < 0.7 mmol / l) may
      distort pH readings.

    Compare the color of the solution with the color scale on the tester. The matching shade determines the pH value. The pH value of water expresses the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a chemical substance. The ideal value for swimming pools is 6.8 - 8.2. A pH higher than 8.2 leads to the formation of various mineral cloudiness, limescale, and other deposits. A pH lower than 6.8 causes corrosion of metal surfaces. The pH value affects the solubility and effectiveness of the disinfectants used.
