Filter Tank - Bilbao Split Filter 400 without 6-Way Valve - Anthracite Grey
Bilbao 400 sand filter suitable for above-ground and in-ground pools up to 40 m3. The Bilbao filter features a split sand tank. The split tank allows for faster and easier sand replacement than filters with a top-mounted valve. In addition, when replacing the sand media, there is no risk of accidental damage to the internal filter piping. Bilbao filter tanks are manufactured by plastic injection molding, which ensures high wall strength. The tanks are highly resistant to internal pressure as well as to the chemicals used for pool maintenance. In terms of material quality, workmanship, and service life, Bilbao filters rank among the best pool filtration systems on the market. There are only a few sand filters that still operate like new without complaints even after twenty years. Easy installation and commissioning. Can be connected to pool PVC pipes as well as 50 mm flexible hoses.
Side 6-way valve and filter media are not included.
Filtration
Filtration is part of the overall treatment of pool water. This means that the filtration unit alone, without proper chemical water treatment, cannot ensure the required water parameters. Likewise, chemical water treatment alone is not sufficient without filtration.

Filtration Principle
Water is drawn by the pump from the bottom of the pool through the pool drain (1) and from the surface through the skimmers /collectors/ (2), then via the valve (3) into the filter (5), where it is cleaned. It is then returned to the pool through the recirculation nozzles (6). The nozzles are located on the opposite side from the bottom drain and skimmers. The filter itself contains a sand media that traps insoluble impurities present in the water. After a certain period of filtration, the sand becomes clogged and water can no longer pass through it easily. It is therefore necessary to backwash the sand. Backwashing is performed by directing water into the filter in the opposite direction to the filtration process.
