Bilbao 600 sand filtration system suitable for above-ground and in-ground pools up to 80 m³. The Bilbao filter features a split sand tank. The split tank allows for faster and easier sand replacement than filters with a top-mounted valve. In addition, when replacing the sand media, there is no risk of accidental damage to the internal pipework of the filter. Filtration

Filtration is part of the overall treatment of pool water. This means that the filtration unit alone, without proper chemical water treatment, cannot ensure the required water parameters. Likewise, chemical water treatment alone is not sufficient without filtration.

Filtration Principle

Water is drawn by the pump from the bottom of the pool through the pool outlet (1) and from the surface of the pool through skimmers /collectors/ (2), via the valve (3) into the filter (5), where it is cleaned. It is then returned to the pool through the recirculation nozzles (6). The nozzles are located on the opposite side from where the bottom outlet and skimmers are installed. The filter itself contains a sand media that traps insoluble impurities present in the water. After a certain period of filtration, the sand becomes clogged and therefore difficult for water to pass through. It is therefore necessary to backwash the sand. Backwashing or rinsing is carried out by directing water into the filter in the opposite direction to the filtration process.
