The Zodiac Gensalt 10 unit produces gaseous chlorine from salt in the pool water. The chlorine produced in this way is then dosed into the pool. For the system to work properly, salt must first be added to the pool in an amount of 3 - 4 kg per 1 m3 of water. The unit is equipped with a control mechanism that alerts you during operation when more salt needs to be added to the pool.
Salt water in the pool has beneficial effects on the skin and is highly resistant to microorganisms. By using water treatment based on salt decomposition, it is possible to save on pool chemicals and the time needed for water treatment.It is necessary to use two titanium grounding points, one before and one after the chlorinator. When using salt water treatment, use the UV sterilizer only with a plastic body.

Connecting the Gensalt 10 chlorinator cell with the Quick-Fix system:
- The unit includes a cell that connects to existing pool piping with a diameter of 50 or 63 mm using the special Quick-Fix system. It is a clamp that is simply attached to the pipe, with only two holes drilled into it. Installation takes up to 15 minutes
- We recommend placing the cell in a bypass loop and always installing it in the filtration circuit after the filter, after any heaters and other equipment.
How does it work?
- Salt water chlorinators work on a simple principle, the same as the natural marine ecosystem.
- Pool water is lightly salted with a concentration of 4 g/l, which is nine times less than seawater.
- Through electrolysis, which takes place in the cell, the salt is converted into gaseous chlorine, which is then dissolved in the water as a disinfectant.
- The active chlorine then destroys all microorganisms in the cell and ensures a sufficient amount of free chlorine in the pool.
- The active chlorine, which is eliminated by sunlight and UV radiation, is continuously replenished from the cell without any further intervention.

Water quality
For proper operation of the chlorinator, the pH must be maintained between 7.2 and 7.4. Balanced water (pH and alkalinity) and effective filtration adapted to the pool water volume are the basic factors for good water quality. The polarity switching function works automatically and thus increases efficiency.
