The advantage of PVC fittings is easy handling, simple installation, and chemical resistance.

PVC-U pressure fitting is suitable for piping in filtration systems for swimming ponds, pools, ornamental ponds, fish tanks, and similar applications. It is most commonly used for connecting equipment. Never glue a threaded joint. Use Teflon tape or sealing thread to seal the connection.

Before gluing, all joints must be thoroughly cleaned. Use Tangit or Griffon. Apply a thin layer of Tangit or Griffon adhesive to both the fitting and the pipe, then press the joints together. Allow at least 5 minutes to dry. Pool adhesives cure in 10 - 12 hours.
