Oase IceFree 4 Seasons - De-icing Set
- During the winter months, the pump draws warmer water from the bottom of the pond to the surface, preventing ice from forming around the polystyrene float down to -20 °C.
- To help your fish safely get through the winter in the pond, it is necessary to ensure that an opening remains in the ice throughout the winter.
- This opening allows the necessary gas exchange: decomposition gases created by the decay of plant residues and other debris on the bottom can escape from the pond, while the required oxygen from the air can enter the pond.
- In winter, it is important to clear snow from the frozen surface so that light can reach the pond, because if there is not enough light in the pond, algae consume oxygen from the water; on the other hand, when they receive enough light, they produce oxygen.
- Included are two nozzles for different fountain effects (when used in summer): one with a fountain height of approx. 40 cm for better aeration, and another bell-shaped nozzle with a height of approx. 5 cm that is unobtrusive.
- It includes an energy-saving 5W pump that keeps the area around the float free of ice during winter and works as a small fountain during the summer months.
