Difference between saltwater and seawater in a pool:
Saltwater: Used for water disinfection and has a much lower salt concentration, usually around 0.3 - 0.5%, i.e. approximately 3 to 5 grams per liter of water. At this concentration, the water does not act aggressively on pool equipment, reducing the risk of corrosion and extending the service life of the equipment. In combination with a salt chlorinator, it is a modern, eco-friendly, and efficient way to treat pool water with minimal need for manual chemical dosing.
Seawater: Has a high salt concentration, around 3.5% (35 grams of salt per liter of water), which is 7 to 10 times more than in pool saltwater. In addition to sodium chloride, it also contains many other minerals. Using real seawater in pools is technically demanding.
