  • Aseko Grundfos Priming Unit

    The priming unit is a transparent, airtight tank with a screw cap on top. It is installed between the tank and the pump. The inlet to the tank and the outlet to the pump are located at the bottom of the tank. The priming unit is supplied together with a bracket for wall mounting and a rod for installation on top of the tank.

    The priming unit has the following functions:

    1. Pump priming: It is used to make pump priming easier in cases where the pump switches on and off frequently, or when it operates with a high suction lift. In this case, the priming unit eliminates or significantly reduces the so-called "dry" suction phase.
    2. Gas separation: Gases present in the pump suction line are trapped in the upper part of the tank and cannot enter the pump head.
    3. Damping pulsations: The damping air cushion in the upper part of the priming unit tank absorbs pressure surges. This helps optimize dosing accuracy and reduces the risk of cavitation.
