The Bilbao 400 sand filter is suitable for above-ground and in-ground pools up to 30 m3. The Bilbao filter features a split sand tank. The split tank allows for faster and easier sand replacement than filters with a top-mounted valve. In addition, when replacing the sand media, there is no risk of accidentally damaging the internal filter piping. Bilbao filter tanks are manufactured using injection-molded plastic, which ensures excellent wall strength. The tanks are highly resistant to internal pressure as well as to the chemical products used for pool maintenance. In terms of material quality, workmanship, and service life, Bilbao filters rank among the best pool filters on the market. There are only a few sand filters that still operate like new after twenty years without complaints. Easy installation and commissioning. Can be connected to pool PVC pipes or 50 mm flexible hoses.
Filtration is part of the overall treatment of pool water. This means that the filtration unit alone, without proper chemical water treatment, cannot ensure the required water parameters. Likewise, chemical water treatment alone is not sufficient without filtration.
Filtration PrincipleWater is drawn by the pump from the bottom of the pool through the pool drain (1) and from the surface through the skimmers /collectors/ (2), via the valve (3) into the filter (5), where it is cleaned. It is then pushed back into the pool through the recirculation nozzles (6). The nozzles are located on the opposite side from the bottom drain and skimmers. The filter itself contains a sand bed that traps insoluble impurities present in the water. After a certain period of filtration, the sand becomes clogged and less permeable to water. It is therefore necessary to backwash the sand. Backwashing or rinsing is carried out by directing water into the filter in the opposite direction to the filtration process. |
