The high-quality Martinic QS sand filtration system is the ideal solution for efficient mechanical cleaning and maintaining crystal-clear water in your pool. The entire filtration unit is built on a stable base plate, to which the robust Martinic polypropylene tank is firmly bolted. During development, the manufacturer placed great emphasis on user comfort and easy maintenance. The tank opens exactly in the middle, which significantly simplifies, speeds up, and makes periodic replacement of the filter sand or modern glass media easier. Maximum tightness, strength, and safety of this split body are ensured by a sturdy steel clamp ring, which firmly connects the upper and lower parts of the tank and easily withstands water pressure.
This filtration set is complemented by a top-quality, bolted 6-way valve from the renowned Praher brand, which serves as the control center of the entire filtration system. Using the ergonomic control lever, you can easily switch between six different modes according to your pool’s current needs. In addition to the standard filtration mode, where water passes through the sand bed and is cleaned of impurities, the valve allows you to start backwashing to clean the sand itself and then perform a rinse cycle, which settles the filter media back into place. You can also use the circulation mode for quick mixing of pool chemicals without the water passing through the filter, the full drain mode for discharging water into the waste line (suitable, for example, when vacuuming coarse dirt from the bottom or when winterizing the pool), and last but not least the “closed” position, which completely shuts off water flow and is especially useful during pump maintenance and cleaning. Martinic QS combines long service life, high efficiency, and exceptionally easy operation in one package.

Valve Positions and Their Functions

The valve positions are as follows:

Pool filtration: Water is drawn from the skimmer or bottom drain, passes through the filtration system where it is cleaned, and then returns to the pool through the nozzles.
Backwash cycle: The filter media (sand) is cleaned, while the dirty water is discharged to waste.
Rinse after backwash: Used to remove fine impurities left after backwashing.
Draining water from the pool: If the pool is equipped with a bottom drain, it can be completely emptied.
Circulation bypassing the filter tank: Water bypasses the filtration system, suitable for example when priming the pump.
Closing the entire circulation system: Used to shut off the system during maintenance or cleaning of the pump prefilter.
