PPG Filter Deluxe 20” filter tank without valve. In the search for an exclusive high-end filter that meets the expectations of the most demanding pool manufacturer, PPG decided to combine two well-known products. The best features of two renowned products were brought together to create the best possible filter. We combine the proven reliability and refurbishment options of the Lacron filter with industrial-grade components used in public filters for commercial use.

The delivery of the filter tank does not include filter media (sand, zeolite).

Filtration

Filtration is part of the overall treatment of pool water. This means that filtration equipment alone, without proper chemical water treatment, cannot ensure the required water parameters. Likewise, chemical water treatment alone is not sufficient without filtration.

Filtration principle

Water is drawn by the pump from the bottom of the pool through the pool bottom drain (1) and from the pool surface through the skimmers / collectors / (2) via the valve (3) into the filter (5), where it is cleaned. It is then pushed back into the pool through the recirculation nozzles (6). The nozzles are located on the opposite side from where the bottom drain and skimmers are installed. The filter itself contains a sand filling, which traps insoluble impurities contained in the water. After a certain period of filtration, the sand becomes clogged and therefore difficult for water to pass through. It is therefore necessary to backwash the sand. Backwashing or rinsing is carried out by feeding water into the filter in the opposite direction to the filtration process.
