The Espa Tiper 70M is a compact single-stage centrifugal pump designed for water recirculation in hydromassage systems, hot tubs, and spa installations. Thanks to its design, it is ideal wherever reliable water circulation is needed while maintaining compact dimensions and easy installation. Espa presents the Tiper range as pumps intended for water recirculation in hydromassage equipment; current catalog materials also indicate use in pools, spa, and hot tubs. This is a compact model especially suitable for smaller circulation systems, hot tubs, and spa installations. The motor operates at approximately 2,900 rpm and the pump is designed for continuous operation. As flow increases, the head gradually decreases, so when designing the system it is always necessary to take into account the resistance of the piping, fittings, filters, and other components. One of the key features of the Tiper 70M model is its single-stage centrifugal design. Water is drawn into the hydraulic section of the pump and then accelerated by the impeller and delivered into the discharge pipe. This solution enables efficient water recirculation while offering a simple design suitable for long-term operation.
Construction and Materials Used
The pump is made from materials designed for operation in water systems. The pump body, impeller, and diffuser are made of technopolymer. The pump shaft is made of AISI 431 stainless steel. Shaft sealing is provided by an alumina-graphite mechanical seal, while the sealing O-rings are made of NBR / EPDM materials. The motor housing is made of aluminum. The use of technopolymers in the hydraulic section contributes to the pump’s low weight while providing suitable durability for this type of application. The AISI 431 stainless steel shaft is designed for reliable operation in contact with the pumping unit, and the mechanical seal ensures sealing between the hydraulic section and the motor.
Electric Motor
The Tiper 70M is equipped with a two-pole asynchronous motor designed for 1~ 230 V power supply. The rated motor output is 0.37 kW / 0.5 HP. According to current Espa data, input power P1 is approximately 0.7 kW and rated current is approximately 3 A. The capacitor value is 12 µF. The motor has insulation class F, protection rating IPX5, and built-in thermal protection with automatic restart according to the manufacturer’s data. The pump is designed for continuous operation – S1. Motor cooling is provided by a fan. When making the electrical connection, it is essential to follow the data stated on the nameplate of the specific pump. The original ESPA manual requires connection through a multipole switch with contact separation of at least 3 mm and specifies a residual current device with a sensitivity of 0.03 A as additional protection against electric shock. Electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with applicable regulations.
