The Aquachek strip tester is designed to determine the salt concentration in pool water. The strips measure salt levels (sodium chloride) from 400 to 7,000 ppm. The strips are single-use.
The sodium chloride content should be checked at least once a month. Make sure you use the electrolytic chlorinator in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
The ideal salt content in the water should be between 2,500 and 3,000 mg/liter (for low-salt chlorinators) or between 3,000 and 5,000 mg/liter (for high-salt chlorinators). The optimal value depends on the chlorinator design and the manufacturer’s recommendations, so please read the chlorinator’s operating instructions carefully.
The chlorinator converts table salt into free chlorine, which disinfects the pool and destroys bacteria and germs that enter the water.
The tester contains 10 measuring strips.
For measurement, use a clean small cup and pour in the water to be tested. The water level in the container should be 2.5 cm. Insert the test strip into the cup with the lower end first and allow the water to be absorbed up to the top end. The upper yellow mark on the strip will darken when the test is complete. This usually takes 3–4 minutes. Then remove the strip from the container and note the highest number on the white band of the strip (the white tip). For example, when the white tip is 2.8, the table shows a salt content value of 1,180 mg/liter.
